This past summer, I had the phenomenal opportunity to go on a trip to Norway. I've been out of the country but had not been to any Scandinavian countries before, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see, experience, and learn about the rich history and cultural traditions in Norway. We were fortunate enough to be in Norway on Constitution Day, which celebrates the signing of the Norwegian Constitution on May 17th, 1814. I got to watch the annual Constitution Parade in Haugesund, Norway at the tail end of our trip.
And of course if I'm going to travel halfway around the world, you know I'm bringing my camera with me! Two main things caught my attention during the trip; Norway's landscape (specifically the fjords) and the towns that existed in and around them. I took almost 600 pictures during this trip, most of which were focused on this combined concept of the Norwegian Fjordtown.
What I found most fascinating was the fact that people lived everyday ordinary lives surrounded by some of the most stunning landscapes I've ever seen. I wanted to capture that idea in pictures to the best of my ability, and I decided to collect and edit some of my favorites into my first collection. I've aptly named it "Norwegian Fjordtowns".
