Hello again! I've had some great opportunities over the past couple of months to take lots of pictures. One of the highlights from this period was a trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trip was well timed with fall colors and I was blown away by the landscapes.
In other news, it's been winter here for a few weeks, which means that a lot of migratory bird species are in the area. The Northern Mockingbird you see above is a year round resident, but other species such as Vireos and Warblers are fairly prevalent now (and will continue to be until about March.
I've also acquired a new camera, which you may have noticed if you've been following me on Instagram. The new Canon EOS 80D is proving to be a substantial upgrade to the entry-level but still reliable Canon Rebel T100. One of the best features I've come across with the new camera is called high-speed continuous shooting. This allows me to hold the shutter button down while the camera rapidly takes pictures. This feature has changed my shooting style a bit, and allowed me to capture a Belted Kingfisher for the first time!

Anyways that's it for the past couple of months. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
